O Lionel 2015 DYOB Winning Design
To celebrate the 115th anniversary Lionel Trains asked their fans to tap into their inner artist and design a boxcar. The designs piled in via email and the post office. After a tough decision of narrowing down the designs, the Lionel Team displayed 16 for public voting. It was a tough battle and our winner learned the power of social media as he sent nightly reminders to vote for his design. When all the votes were tallied, the "Swoop L" design by Booth Rankins of Marion, N.C. Had won by 12 votes. The design came to Booth after several doodles and he selected the classic Lionel blue and orange as colors. We hope you like the Booth's Boxcar as much as he enjoyed designing it.
